Description Key Job Duties: The Assistant Store Director is accountable for the following job responsibilities: Customer service including assistance with customer complaints in a positive manner and observation of/coaching employees as needed. Sales and profitability for COS departments (as above) to include execution of weekly COS marketing plan, analysis of relevant financial information; creation of plans to improve sales and profits in opportunity areas. Direct supervision of Grocery Manager, COS department employees (as above), and Inventory Control Clerk; indirect supervision of all store employees Partners with the Store Director to communicate information to employees through store profit meetings and daily huddles. Provides COS sales and labor projections to Store Director to be incorporated in total stores sales and labor projections. Train and mentor employees under direct supervision to include interviews, training plans, performance evaluation, coaching and corrective action meetings; assist SD with same tasks for indirectly supervised employees. Maintains cleanliness of store to include directing and following up with employees on use of cleaning lists and systems. Maintains in-stock product levels at or better than store target to include analysis of OOS reports, oversight of product reset waves; resolution of opportunity areas, communication with order writers. Coordinates product recall procedures and tasks. Writes weekly COS departments (as above) work schedule and assigns employees to specific duties. Partners with COS department managers in planning and execution of seasonal displays. Execution of daily/weekly FAR Tasks to include Picklists create/deleted; PI adjustments, tag subscription; review of FAR reports. Assumes Grocery Manager FAR duties on Grocery Manager day off. Oversees order writing for COS departments; coach employees and resolve problems as necessary. Completion of weekly Scan Based Planning (SBP) orders. Holds employees accountable for compliance with established retail policies and procedures; federal/state/local laws; security practices and record keeping processes. Execution of safety and food safety plans and programs to include ensuring new hires complete all safety/food safety training modules; follow up on all audits to ensure violations are corrected. Vendor communication to include merchandising, order verification, troubleshooting in-stock, inventory and service problems. Maintains COS department (as above) Shrink to target by oversight and implementation of Division best practices such as Grocery ROWSAP and APW 750 reconciliation; COS Inventory process including preparation; maintaining Inventory Build to target. Maintains backroom organization to include compliance with 5S standards, HazMat program and oversight of Product Recovery Center accuracy (PRC). Other duties as required which may include supporting all departments in the store as needed.
