Pay Transparency: Starting rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and may vary based on things like location, experience, qualifications, and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement. Candidates with unique qualifications may be considered for compensation above this range. Dependent on length of service, hours worked, any applicable collective bargaining agreement and/or Company policy, benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay, PTO/Vacation pay, paid holidays, bereavement pay and retirement benefits (pension and/or 401(k) eligibility). Associates in this position may be eligible for a quarterly bonus, subject to Company bonus plans. Applications are accepted on an on-going basis. For roles in Washington State: Sick pay and PTO/Vacation pay are accrued based on hours worked and paid holidays are issued at 7-9 days annually.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains an enthusiastic atmosphere focused on fast and friendly customer service.
  • Assists customers with product suggestions, special orders, and food preparation recommendations.
  • Engages in suggestive selling through telephone, in‑store intercom, and face‑to-face interactions.
  • Answers incoming calls promptly, resolves customer concerns, and escalates to the Store Director when necessary.
  • Oversees and assists with preparation, brewing, and serving of all food and beverage items.
  • Implements proper and efficient preparation, brewing, packaging, and product handling techniques.
  • Brews coffee and tea according to company standards.
  • Operates and maintains all department equipment, including: Coffee grinders, coffee machines, espresso machines Blenders, ovens (conventional & microwave) Food prep utensils, printers, pallet jacks
  • Prepares hot and cold beverages, food items, and specialty drinks to established specifications.
  • Operates electronic cash register accurately.
  • Totals customer purchases, accepts payment, and makes correct change.
  • Maintains strong knowledge of coffee bar layout and workflow procedures.
  • Maintains cleanliness, sanitation, and visual appeal of the Starbucks area, equipment, workspaces, and displays.
  • Ensures proper temperatures are maintained during preparation, display, and storage.
  • Ensures department meets all safety, sanitation, and compliance requirements.
  • Schedules, supervises, directs, and trains department employees to ensure adequate coverage and service levels.
  • Trains employees on store policies, sales processes, and record‑keeping requirements.
  • Identifies high‑potential employees for advancement and provides ongoing coaching.
  • Monitors employee productivity and evaluates performance.
  • Plans daily department operations and monitors production processes using company standards and profitability expectations.
  • Prepares sales and inventory reports; assists with physical inventory every four weeks.
  • Understands and performs all opening and closing procedures.
  • Controls inventory levels to ensure product quantity, quality, and freshness.
  • Stocks and rotates product, maintains and organizes the cooler, and removes outdated or spoiled items.
  • Ensures accurate code dating for all products within the department.
  • Builds and maintains seasonal and promotional displays.
  • May operate and maintain salad bar, wing bar, or burger bar where applicable.
  • Performs receiving duties including breaking down loads, verifying invoices, inspecting quality, reporting shortages, stocking, and rotating product.
  • Follows required temperature, storage, and packaging guidelines.
  • Processes administrative paperwork and maintains accurate department records.
  • Complies with retail labeling laws, federal/state regulations, company policies, and code‑dating standards.
