About The Position

The Assistant Staffing Operations Director is responsible for ensuring the successful operation of all residential locations, including the oversight and management of day-to-day operational activities for clients and staff. This role involves providing immediate supervision and direction, teaching, coaching, and mentoring residential staff, and offering administrative support to the Staffing Operations Director. Key responsibilities include representing OAC professionally, training and supporting site managers and supervisors, completing reports, assisting with recruiting and onboarding, fostering a collaborative work environment, collaborating with nursing and program managers, managing on-call schedules, monitoring budgetary obligations, assisting with payroll, ensuring schedule upkeep, maintaining health and safety standards, conducting environmental walk-throughs, attending meetings, ensuring documentation compliance, maintaining relationships with conservators and family members, providing site coverage, participating in ongoing training, and assisting with shift coverage as needed.

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license
  • CPR certification within 30 days of hire is required
  • Certified in Professional Crisis Management (PCM) within 60 days of hire is required
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills, strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective time management and organizational skills with proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Proficient computer skills related to Word, Excel and other applications

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of experience working in the ID/DD/Behavioral Health field in direct support of clients
  • Prior supervisory experience with at least 2 years in management and oversight of employees

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the successful operation of all residential locations.
  • Oversight and management of the day-to-day operational activities for the clients and staff.
  • Provide immediate supervision and direction utilizing verbal and written instructions.
  • Teach, coach, and mentor through the supervision of all residential staff.
  • Provide administrative support to the Staffing Operations Director.
  • Represent OAC in a positive and professional manner in community meetings, events and social functions.
  • Train, support, and encourage Site Operations Managers and Shift Supervisors in their areas of expertise.
  • Complete reports as scheduled.
  • Monitor and review the End of Shift supervisory report.
  • Assist in facilitating recruiting, selection, onboarding, and placement activities to ensure the best-qualified applicants are selected and teams strengthened.
  • Foster a supportive and collaborative work environment for all employees including, but not limited to planned employee engagement activities.
  • Collaborate with nursing in regards to medical appointments and appointment runners.
  • Alternate on-call responsibilities with Site Operations Managers to include on-call supervisory home visits as assigned.
  • Assist the SOD by monitoring the budgetary obligations for residential services.
  • Assist in payroll responsibilities for all residential services.
  • Ensure the entry and upkeep of all OnShift schedules for residential services.
  • Oversee and implement effective on-call schedules, and expectations, and support the SOM.
  • Monitor and ensure all staff attend orientation or re-certification classes as communicated by the training coordinator.
  • Monitor completion of performance reviews by assisting the Site Operations Manager.
  • Ensure and maintain all health and safety standards at both an operational and regulatory level for the site.
  • Conduct regular environmental walk-throughs of the homes with the shift supervisors to ensure cleanliness and safety.
  • Attend regularly scheduled Operational and Residential meetings as assigned.
  • Ensure documentation compliance to include a review of bed checks, shift notes, and repositioning notes.
  • Address areas in need of improvement with the staff related to documentation daily.
  • Collaborate with the Program Manager and Primary Site Nurse; participate in weekly planning meetings to provide a holistic approach to client supports.
  • Maintain a support relationship with conservators and family members of the clients under their purview.
  • Provide coverage to other site(s) in the absence of another Site Operations Manager.
  • Participate in training to continually improve expertise in the field of developmentally disabled.
  • Assist with shift coverage as needed, including but not limited to filling shifts, working shifts, and taking on-call responsibilities in the absence of the Site Operations Manager and/or Shift Supervisors.
  • Complete a minimum of 10 managerial hours in residential services not to include the Enrichment Center.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
