About The Position

As a casual Assistant Services Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting Centre operations during busy periods, seasonal peaks, and staff leave. This casual position offers flexibility and variety, providing hands‑on support across programs and events to ensure safe, smooth and positive experiences for our clients. No two shifts look the same - A typical day could start with supporting event setup, directing traffic and parking, assisting clients on arrival or preparing resources for the day’s programs. Later in the shift, you might switch to administrative tasks such as responding to enquiries, providing information, completing data entry or processing payments. You will also help maintain supplies, operate equipment safely, follow operational and safety procedures, and support the smooth delivery of programs and events. No matter the task, delivering great customer service and maintaining a safe, compliant environment will always be at the core of the role.

Requirements

  • Experience in event operations, traffic flow, parking or site support
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Confidence assisting with setup, pack‑down and general logistics
  • Reliable administrative skills, including data entry and payment handling
  • Effective planning, organisation and time‑management
  • Ability to follow WHS, child protection, food safety and money‑handling procedures
  • Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends and busy seasonal periods
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to pitch in wherever needed
  • The successful candidate will need to obtain and maintain a Current Working with Children Check (WWCC) Clearance in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012
  • All appointments will be subject to the satisfactory completion of reference checks, pre-employment medical and a National Criminal History Record Check in accordance with the Disability Inclusion Act 2014.
  • To be eligible for this position, you must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, a permanent resident, or hold a valid Australian working visa for the duration of the appointment.
