We're searching for an Assistant Service Manager to support the Service Department operations at our Gary, IN dealership. Specifically this person will work to enhance the efficiencies of the department through the direction of lead technicians and service advisors on behalf of the Service Manager.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of related industry experience preferred
  • 1-year related industry experience required
  • 1 -2 years of prior management/supervisory experience required
  • Bachelor's degree in business management preferred
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Must have a valid driver's license

Responsibilities

  • Performs the critical role of dispatching jobs to the lead technicians, ensuring maximum efficiencies are gained by the technical staff.
  • Proactively push repair updates to the Service Advisors ensuring timely and accurate communication and repair status is conveyed to the repair customers
  • Establishes defined repair time expectations and provide accurate repair estimates to the technical team leaders.
  • Supports the lead technicians and assists the Service Manager with the discipline of any deficient technicians.
  • Prepares daily hand-off notes for the evening shift Foreman ensuring the smooth transition of jobs between shifts.
  • Work with location Warranty Manager ensuring all warranty processes are followed, all warranty coverages are confirmed and all warranty parts are properly turned into the back-counterman
  • Assists the Service Manager ensuring all Dealer Management System functions are properly updated including: SDL notes, CTH functions, PFC functions, RO auditing and closing.
  • Assist the Service Manager with the completion of payroll functions and overtime approval.
  • Acts as Service Manager during location Service Manager’s absence.
