The Department of Atmospheric Science at The Rosenstiel School of Marine, Atmospheric and Earth Science at the University of Miami has an exciting position for an Assistant Scientist in the area of global climate modeling. Previous experience in climate model development and performing sensitivity experiments with coupled ocean-atmosphere models is required. The successful candidate will conduct original research, write manuscripts for publication, participate in professional meetings, and collaborate with faculty and graduate students at the University of Miami and other institutions. The position will also encourage candidates to develop and pursue their own areas of research interest. Qualified applicants should have a Ph.D. in Atmospheric Sciences or a relevant field, a strong mathematics and physics background, excellent writing and speaking skills, and strong programming abilities. The position can start immediately, though the starting date is negotiable based on mutual interest. Salary is competitive based on experience and qualifications.
