About The Position

About This Unit The 4th Floor (4NS) is a Cardiac Progressive Care Unit with 36 beds, including 30 semi-private rooms and 3 private rooms (one equipped for negative pressure). Patient Population We care for hemodynamically stable adults (18+) who require telemetry monitoring and assessments every four hours. Pediatric patients aged 14+ may be admitted to a private room with a guardian present. Common Diagnoses Post-cardiac intervention Pre-CABG Arrhythmias Blood pressure abnormalities Congestive heart failure Substance abuse General medical conditions Capabilities Our team manages medication drips such as antiarrhythmics, IV nitroglycerin, heparin, non-titrating dopamine, and IV inotropics (excluding levophed, neosynephrine, and labetalol). Your Role As part of our leadership team, you’ll work closely with the Clinical Nurse Manager to foster an environment where patients receive exceptional care and staff feel empowered. Scope of work Under the direction of the nurse manager or other nursing leader, the assistant nurse manager has responsibility for the effective implementation of the philosophy, goals, policies, and procedures of the hospital and the nursing department and their effect on patient care in the department.

Requirements

  • Effective June 1, 2025, a bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) is Required.
  • Two+ years of clinical experience Required.
  • MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required.
  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required.
  • AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Required.

Nice To Haves

  • Participation in leadership activities (Unit, hospital or system Shared Governance meetings, Precepting, Charge nurse role) Preferred.
