About This Unit This seventy-two-bed Progressive Care Unit (PCU) provides patient- and family-centered care to individuals requiring an elevated level of monitoring and treatment. The unit serves patients with progressive acuity levels who benefit from advanced nursing care and cardiac and respiratory support. Our multidisciplinary team includes highly skilled nurses, nursing assistants, and telemetry technicians who collaborate to deliver safe, coordinated care. The FH PCU treats a diverse population of medically complex patients, including those requiring titratable cardiac drips, ventilatory support, and enhanced monitoring to support recovery and stabilization. Scope of work Under the direction of the nurse manager or other nursing leader, the assistant nurse manager has responsibility for the effective implementation of the philosophy, goals, policies, and procedures of the hospital and the nursing department and their effect on patient care in the department.
