About The Position

The Assistant Regional Manager supports the Regional Manager in the daily management and oversight of commercial cleaning contracts. This role is responsible for ensuring consistent service delivery, effective staffing, strong customer relationships, and compliance with safety, labor, and quality standards across assigned accounts. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in managing union labor within a fast-paced service environment.

Requirements

  • Experience in commercial cleaning, janitorial services, or facilities management preferred
  • Prior supervisory or management experience required
  • Working knowledge of cleaning equipment, chemicals, and safe handling procedures
  • Familiarity with SDS sheets and OSHA safety standards
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience working with union labor; knowledge of SEIU Local 32BJ CBA strongly preferred
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings as required

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the daily management of assigned customer accounts
  • Conduct regular onsite inspections to ensure quality control and contract compliance
  • Perform tenant and property management visits as needed
  • Prepare daily plans for evening shifts and special projects
  • Schedule and oversee periodic and specialty cleaning projects
  • Recruit, hire, and onboard onsite cleaning staff
  • Train onsite employees and site supervisors
  • Manage staffing levels to ensure proper coverage
  • Conduct employee performance evaluations
  • Administer disciplinary action in accordance with company policy and union guidelines
  • Manage employee timekeeping and payroll through custom software systems
  • Oversee payroll accuracy and resolve discrepancies
  • Maintain key inventory, uniform distribution, and supply inventories
  • Place monthly supply orders and manage inventory controls
  • Conduct safety training and reinforce safe work practices
  • Correct unsafe work practices when observed
  • Ensure proper use, handling, and storage of cleaning chemicals and equipment
  • Demonstrate knowledge of SDS sheets and explain them to employees
  • Maintain working knowledge of the current Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) with SEIU Local 32BJ
  • Communicate regularly with customers and property management
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships
  • Address service concerns promptly and professionally
