The Assistant Racquets Professional provides lessons, maintains tennis courts and assists in operations of the racquets program.

Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge of the game of Tennis.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong customer relations skills.
  • Outgoing/engaging personality that will ensure an enjoyable and entertaining environment in a safe/professional setting.
  • Position functions with supervision.
  • Minimum of a high school diploma (or equivalent) and at least 1 year of experience in Tennis Instruction.
  • Certified in CPR, First Aid, and AED
  • Tennis Instructor Certification
  • Frequently works in outdoor weather conditions.
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach for an extended period of time.
  • Ability to bend at waist and perform repetitive foot and hand action.
  • Ability to lift 20 pounds frequently, up to 50 pounds periodically.
  • Good hand/eye/foot coordination required.
  • Keswick polo (which will be provided), tennis shorts and sneakers.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior teaching experience with both adults and children preferred. However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in delivering high-quality private and group instruction for both tennis and pickleball, across all age groups and skill levels.
  • Support junior development programs, adult clinics, and special events to enhance member engagement.
  • Help implement and lead recreational and competitive play formats (e.g., round robins, socials, exhibitions).
  • Promote an inclusive, positive environment that encourages player improvement and enjoyment.
  • Shadow senior professionals to continue learning and developing technical and teaching skills.
  • Support daily upkeep of the red clay tennis courts and hard pickleball courts, including brushing, watering, rolling, and lining as needed.
  • Assist with seasonal court setup, closures, and special event preparation.
  • Monitor court conditions and promptly report any issues or hazards to ensure safety and playability.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of court areas, teaching carts, and ball hoppers.
  • Learn and support retail operations, including point-of-sale transactions, merchandising, inventory tracking, and reordering.
  • Participate in scheduling and communications for lessons, clinics, and special events.
  • Assist with racquet services including stringing, grip replacement, and logging restring history for clients.
  • Help plan and execute events such as tournaments, member socials, and watch parties.
  • Attend regular staff meetings and contribute ideas to improve programming and client satisfaction.
  • Develop professionalism in client service, communication, and brand representation as part of an educational pathway toward a full racquets professional role.
