About The Position

We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Assistant Property Manager with experience in affordable housing to help manage the day-to-day operations of one of our senior living communities. The ideal candidate will be familiar with LIHTC and affordable housing programs, and will play a critical role in leasing, compliance, tenant relations, and operational support. This position supports the Property Manager in all aspects of community oversight, ensuring that residents receive excellent service and that the property remains in compliance with all regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in property management or leasing, preferably in affordable housing
  • Working knowledge of LIHTC, and other low income programs
  • Familiarity with fair housing laws and housing compliance standards
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills
  • Proficient in property management software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain regulatory accuracy
  • Detail-oriented and dependable with a strong team-first attitude

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in business, real estate, or a related field preferred
  • Property management certifications (NALP, CAM, COS, etc.) are a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assist with resident relations by addressing concerns, resolving issues, and providing consistent communication and support
  • Process move-ins, move-outs, and lease renewals in accordance with company policies and compliance regulations
  • Support resident engagement efforts to foster a positive and inclusive community environment
  • Assist with maintaining compliance with all affordable housing guidelines, including LIHTC and other funding programs
  • Process income certifications, recertifications, and maintain accurate tenant files in accordance with regulatory requirements
  • Ensure all required documentation is complete, current, and audit-ready
  • Conduct property tours, respond to leasing inquiries, and assist applicants through the leasing and eligibility process
  • Support leasing efforts to maintain optimal occupancy levels by assisting with marketing outreach, managing listings, and tracking vacancies
  • Prepare lease agreements and ensure compliance with fair housing regulations
  • Log, monitor, and follow up on work orders to ensure timely completion
  • Coordinate with vendors, maintenance technicians, and residents to ensure high-quality service
  • Conduct routine inspections of units and common areas to uphold cleanliness, safety, and maintenance standards
  • Assist with rent collection, delinquency tracking, and enforcement of lease terms
  • Support budget tracking, invoice processing, and monthly reporting on occupancy, income, and expenses
  • Maintain accurate records using property management software and assist with preparing property reports as needed
  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Property Manager and on-site team
  • Attend team meetings, assist with inspections, audits, and site visits
  • Communicate effectively with team members, residents, and vendors to ensure smooth property operations
