About The Position

The Schochet Companies are seeking an experienced Assistant Property Manager for Compliance to join our team at Fresh Pond Apartments, a 500-unit family apartment community located in Cambridge, MA. This role supports the Senior Property Manager in day-to-day operations while overseeing all aspects of affordable housing compliance. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated property management professional with a strong background in Section 8 compliance who is looking to grow with a respected leader in affordable housing.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of property management experience, including a strong background in Section 8 housing compliance
  • Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS) or equivalent certification required
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Yardi experience a plus

Nice To Haves

  • Additional IREM certifications preferred
  • Yardi experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and complete annual, interim, and move-in resident certifications, ensuring all recertifications are accurate and completed within required timeframes
  • Calculate resident rent and maintain complete and accurate records in Yardi property management software
  • Ensure full compliance with HUD, Section 8, EIV, TRACS, and HAP regulations
  • Submit and process TRACS and HAP payments
  • Maintain and regularly update the property wait list
  • Oversee unit vacancies, including coordination of move-ins
  • Show apartments to prospective residents and process move-in paperwork in accordance with company procedures
  • Conduct resident orientations and unit inspections as required
  • Provide excellent customer service through positive, professional communication with residents, applicants, vendors, coworkers, and community partners
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with company and regulatory requirements
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management
