About The Position

The Associate Program Manager provides operational and supervisory support for A Safe Haven’s Youth Overnight Program, which offers short-term emergency shelter and case management to young adults ages 18–24. This role ensures a safe, trauma-informed, and developmentally responsive environment while coordinating staffing, service delivery, and compliance with funder requirements. In addition to managing the Youth Overnight team, this individual serves as the 2nd Shift Supervisor for all A Safe Haven programs, providing cross-site leadership during evening hours to maintain continuity of care, safety, and communication across the residential network.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in youth services, shelter, or residential programming, including supervisory or lead experience.
  • Strong understanding of trauma-informed care, positive youth development, and crisis intervention.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, team-based environment.
  • Experience working with homeless and at-risk youth populations.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Successful background check and all required health clearances.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily supervision and oversight of Youth Overnight staff, including Residential Monitors, Case Managers, and Support Staff.
  • Oversee evening operations to ensure consistent coverage, adherence to program policies, and alignment with trauma-informed and harm-reduction practices.
  • Serve as the 2nd Shift Supervisor for all A Safe Haven residential programs, responding to emergent needs, incidents, and after-hours decisions in collaboration with site leadership.
  • Conduct shift hand-offs, daily huddles, and staff debriefings to ensure smooth communication between shifts and sites.
  • Ensure resident safety, engagement, and compliance with program expectations; model supportive, professional interactions.
  • Ensure accurate reporting of all current clients, maintaining real-time discharge status updates to align with HMIS reporting requirements and DFSS bed enrollment numbers.
  • Monitor bed utilization, intakes, discharges, and incident reporting in alignment with DFSS and internal documentation requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Youth Services Program Manager and Vice President of Programs to track key performance indicators, staffing patterns, and program outcomes.
  • Coordinate with Security, Clinical, and Facilities teams to address issues impacting youth safety or operations.
  • Support onboarding, coaching, and training of evening staff to promote consistency and accountability.
  • Serve as the point of contact for emergency calls and incidents during 2nd shift; escalate serious events per policy.
  • Uphold A Safe Haven’s mission, values, and Housing First, equity-based, and trauma-informed frameworks in all interactions.
