The Department of Journalism and Media Management at the University of Miami seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor whose research and teaching advance public-facing science communication, journalism, and media studies. We welcome candidates who can bridge journalism, media, and scientific disciplines, and who are committed to interdisciplinary collaboration. The Department offers exceptional opportunities for interdisciplinary research and collaboration, supported by access to vibrant media, scientific and advocacy communities. These include world-class research initiatives in climate science, public health, and policy. With more than 30 undergraduates currently combining journalism with science degrees, established partnerships with the Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science, and a university-wide Climate Resilience Academy, the Department and School of Communication are especially conducive to innovation in science journalism and media communication. Additionally, with over 500 students graduating from the university annually in science-related majors, the potential for growth in science journalism and media communication is substantial.
