About The Position
The Hank Greenspun School of Journalism and Media Studies at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for an Assistant Professor-in-Residence in Sports Media, Policy and Leadership. The position starts in Fall 2026. This is an interdisciplinary position with an emphasis on the ability to teach across the undergraduate and graduate sports media curriculum. We’re especially interested in candidates who can help develop courses for our professional master’s program. Only candidates with an earned Ph.D. (ABD’s considered) or another terminal degree in media, journalism or communication will be considered. They also must have relevant professional experience working in sports media. Preference will be given candidates who can teach courses in one or more of the following areas of sports media: journalism, broadcasting, strategy, business, gaming, law and policy, entertainment, and/or tourism.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in media, journalism, or communication from an accredited college or university
- 1-3 years of professional experience in sports media
- Credentials must be obtained prior to the start date.
