About The Position

The Assistant Professor's responsibility encompasses education, research, and/or service. Demonstrates loyalty to the mission, policies, standards, and regulations of his/her department, school, and the University, and follows the administrative policies set up by the University and the individual school. Performs other duties as needed. An Assistant Professor -Research position in neuroscience is available at the Loma Linda University Center for Genomics in Dr. Wang’s lab. Our research focuses on understanding the abnormal brain developments resulting from prenatal exposure to delta-9-tetrahydro-cannabinol (THC) and nicotine such as e-cigarette (e-cig) or other abused drugs, and the underlying genomic and epigenomic mechanisms of prenatal THC and e-cig and other abused drugs induced neurodevelopmental disorders. The position involves close collaboration with researchers across and beyond the center to test, validate, and refine hypotheses. The candidate will receive training in many aspects of genomics and bioinformatics and will perform research involving animal models and neuroscience skills including neurophysiological techniques (microelectrode array), behavioral assays and genomics techniques such as single cell sequencing and spatial genomics. This temporary position is NIH grant funded.

Requirements

  • PhD required.
  • Minimum two years of work/teaching experience in the area of specialization required.
  • Knowledge of current technology and educational media used in teaching and presentations.
  • Able to effectively communicate changes and instructions in a professional, effective and positive manner.
