The Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology Program received initial accreditation from the Council on Academic Accreditation in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology in July 2025. The program is grounded in evidence-based practice across didactic and clinical education. The educational philosophy emphasizes motivated, adult learners actively solving problems that they will experience during the evaluation and treatment of patients, guided by experts (i.e., active learning). The curriculum follows a lock-step progression with coursework intentionally sequenced to build upon and align with students’ clinical experiences each semester. Students participate in clinical experiences across all six semesters, with a full-time practicum culminating in their final semester. Each clinical experience is paired with a didactic course allowing for specific learning objectives and evidence of mastery to be emphasized to ensure that students acquire the breadth and depth of knowledge and skills needed to practice as an SLP.
