Working in integrative diagnostics focusing on digital pathology, informatics and AI in the John Sealy Diagnostic Center within the department of Pathology. Director of Translational Pathology and Diagnostic Innovation: Assay Development & Innovation Provide leadership to design, develop, and optimize cutting-edge molecular diagnostic assays: Liquid biopsy assays for solid tumors and hematological malignancies o NGS-based panels, digital PCR assays, and immunoassay platforms Multiplex assays for multi-organism detection (infectious disease applications) Drive innovation by evaluating and implementing emerging technologies (e.g., ultra-sensitive sequencing, methylation-based assays, single-cell and spatial approaches) Develop SOPs, QC/QA frameworks, and laboratory workflows for in-house testing Biomarker Discovery & Translation Lead biomarker discovery and validation efforts across oncology and non-oncology indications Translate research findings into clinically actionable assays Support precision medicine initiatives through integration of genomic, epigenomic, and proteomic biomarkers (multi-omics) Implement a unified vision for applying translational molecular biomarkers and anatomic/digital pathology biomarkers to clinical implementation. Clinical Trials & Companion Diagnostics Partner with clinical and translational teams to support biomarker-driven clinical trials Develop and implement companion diagnostics (CDx) strategies aligned with therapeutic development initiatives Industry Collaboration & Technology Integration Establish and manage collaborations with biotechnology, pharma, and diagnostic companies Evaluate external technologies and platforms for clinical adoption Lead validation and integration of partner-developed assays into clinical workflows
