The University of Wisconsin-Platteville School of Agriculture is seeking an Assistant Professor specializing in Dairy Business and Economic Development with a focus on regional dairy business and economic development. This is a nine-month (academic year) tenure-track position. This position will be funded by the Dairy Innovation Hub and is 70% research and outreach and 30% teaching. The successful candidate is expected to develop an impactful research and outreach program that supports Wisconsin dairy producers, farm consultants, and dairy food processors by providing leadership and translational research that is focused on regional dairy business development, with particular interest in coordinating technical assistance, niche/value-added market development, and international trade opportunities for dairy businesses, for the growth of our farm businesses and the increased economic sustainability of our dairy farms and surrounding communities. This position will be expected to secure funding from competitive federal programs and industry partners relevant to their area(s) of expertise. The position carries a commitment to the three functions of resident instruction, research, and outreach/service, as well as professional and university service as appropriate to the position.
