Requirements

Ph.D. in Economics from an accredited institution. ABD candidates will be considered if the degree is completed by the start date.
Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching at the university level.
A defined research agenda with evidence of scholarly productivity.
Strong communication skills and a commitment to working in a diverse, collaborative environment.

Nice To Haves

Experience teaching in higher education.
Proficiency in statistical software (Stata, R, Python, or SAS).
Interest in developing online or hybrid course offerings.

Responsibilities

Deliver a standard teaching load (typically 3-3).
Teach core undergraduate and graduate courses, including Principles of Micro/Macroeconomics, Statistics, Quantitative Methods, and MBA Managerial Economics.
Develop specialized upper-level electives in areas such as Monetary Economics, Behavioral Economics, or Environmental Economics.
Mentor and advise students on academic progress and career pathways in the private and public sectors.
Conduct original research leading to publication in peer-reviewed journals.
Present findings at national and international economics conferences.
Seek internal or external funding/grants to support scholarly activities.
Involve undergraduate students in research projects where applicable.
Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum development, and accreditation processes (e.g., IACBE, AACSB, and SACS regional accreditation).
Serve on university-wide committees.
Engage in the university’s unique mission, which may include community outreach, supporting student organizations, or interdisciplinary collaboration.
