The University of North Texas at Dallas (UNT Dallas) is part of the University of North Texas System, which also includes UNT Denton and the UNT Health Fort Worth. UNT Dallas, which is a standalone university in southern Dallas, invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Biology, beginning Fall 2026. This tenure-track position is being offered at the Assistant Professor level. The successful candidate will be expected to achieve excellence in teaching and to participate in continued development of the UNT Dallas Department of Natural Sciences, which offers B.A. and B.S. degrees in Biology and Chemistry, and has plans to launch a Master's degree in Biotechnology in Fall 2027. We are particularly interested in student-centric, innovative, and energetic candidates who can help lead the development of UNT Dallas's Department of Natural Sciences through program development, student recruitment, and community outreach. We seek an experienced leader and Biology generalist who can contribute to the Biology program by teaching a range of biology and health-related bioscience courses. This new faculty member is expected to develop an active research program with undergraduates and will also be responsible for advising student organizations and developing courses and programs. The Department of Natural Sciences is well equipped for teaching and scholarships and will be moving into a state-of-the-art, 115,000 square foot Science Building in Fall 2025. UNT Dallas is bridging the gap between education and workforce readiness through our innovative Classroom to Career initiative. This initiative integrates experiential learning-such as internships, service learning, and project-based collaborations-with partners in education, health, and industry-into every student's academic journey. By emphasizing high-impact practices, we prepare students with both disciplinary expertise and the essential skills employers value: communication, adaptability, teamwork, and leadership. Our graduates don't just earn degrees; they launch purposeful, career-ready futures. We seek faculty in all disciplines who are eager to contribute actively to this transformative, campus-wide initiative. The ideal candidate will be committed to advancing UNT Dallas's Classroom to Career initiative-an innovative effort that bridges academic achievement and career readiness. This includes strengthening industry partnerships, embedding experiential learning (such as internships, research, and service learning) into the curriculum, integrating career and character competencies, and fostering AI fluency and essential power skills like communication, adaptability, teamwork, and leadership. The candidate should also support the development of new academic programs aligned with workforce needs and pathways to family-sustaining careers.
