The Opportunity Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University's Department of Applied Aviation Sciences is seeking applications for a non-tenure track Assistant Professor of Aviation and Aerospace Safety position at the Daytona Beach, Florida Campus. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in areas that may include human factors in aviation, aviation Safety Management Systems (SMS), aircraft accident investigations, operational safety audits (IOSA), flight data analysis (FOQA), safety of aircraft components, aviation sustainability and environmental safety, ground operations safety and health. The courses will contribute to the Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Aviation and Aerospace Safety as well as the Minor in Aviation Safety. The position includes a mix of teaching and service obligations. The candidate must possess effective teaching skills at the undergraduate level, including the ability to relate theory to application through experiential learning. Basic teaching load for non-tenure track appointments is 12 undergraduate credit hours (four courses) per semester. The candidate is expected to develop new course materials as well as teach previously developed courses. Service duties may include student mentorship, curriculum evaluation and assessment, committee participation, participation in recruiting events, and project leadership.
