The Department of Social Work at Utah State University (USU) invites applications for an Assistant Professor (tenure-track or clinical) located at the Logan Campus. This position represents an important opportunity to join a dynamic, statewide social work program committed to preparing advanced generalist practitioners who address complex individual, family, organizational, and community challenges across diverse settings. USU’s Social Work programs (BSW and MSW) are grounded in a generalist and advanced generalist framework that integrates case-to-cause practice models, emphasizes systems-level thinking, and prioritizes ethical, strengths-based, and inclusive approaches to practice. Our faculty are deeply committed to teaching, research, and engagement that advance community well-being, improve rural service delivery, and strengthen workforce development across Utah. As part of USU’s land-grant and R1 mission, the Department of Social Work is committed to accessible, high-quality education delivered through a statewide campus system, strong field education infrastructure, and reciprocal community engagement. We seek candidates who are passionate about preparing the next generation of social workers, contributing to meaningful scholarship and/or professional productivity, and engaging with communities to promote their well-being. This is a nine-month appointment with USU’s Department of Social Work (MSW and BSW degrees) beginning August of 2026. Tenure-track positions have a role assignment of 75% Teaching, supervising, and advising; 15% Research; and 10% Service. Tenure-track positions are renewed annually during the probationary period, provided the role assignment is performed acceptably. Clinical-track positions have a role assignment of 90% Teaching, supervising, advising, and professional productivity; and 10% Service. Clinical-track positions are renewed annually, provided the role assignment is performed acceptably.
