About The Position

The School of Social Work in the College of Arts and Sciences at Sacred Heart University invites applications for a 9 month on ground Assistant Clinical Professor position to begin Fall 2026 The School of Social Work mission is: To prepare social workers—through instruction in integrated social work theory, research, methods, and practice—to identify, dismantle, and resist all forms of social inequality and oppression, particularly issues of racism and its impact on social work practice. We are deeply committed to training social workers to think critically and intervene against cultural, social, political, and economic practices that do not advance human rights, justice, or the dignity and worth of every human being. This mission guides the delivery of the BSW Program, MSW Program (with on-ground and online options) and our hybrid part-time PhD Program.

Requirements

  • MSW degree from a CSWE accredited university, Ph.D. in Social Work or DSW preferred.
  • A minimum of two years post-MSW social work practice experience is required.
  • Candidates should be dedicated to excellence in teaching and social work practice.
  • Possess substantive knowledge of all or most areas of social work education.
  • Be dedicated to collaboration, collegiality, and service.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of CSWE accreditation, curriculum development and practicum education is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching opportunities will be in the BSW and MSW programs.
