We seek applicants who are dedicated to serving The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley's student body as a tenure-track assistant professor of quantitative methods in the 2026-2027 academic year. Applicants must have the ability to teach a variety of quantitative methods courses such as business statistics and data analytics. Evidence of high-quality research and demonstrated potential for quality teaching is expected along with a willingness to provide service to the department, college, university, and community. Applicants should have good communication skills and student interaction abilities. Department/College Background The Department of Information Systems offers Bachelor of Business Administration degrees in information systems and in business analytics, a Master of Science in Business Analytics and Artificial Intelligence, and a Ph.D. in Business Administration with a concentration in Information Systems. The department faculty engages in high-impact research in information systems, analytics, and quantitative methods and have published in leading business journals. The Robert C. Vackar College of Business and Entrepreneurship offers undergraduate, master's, and doctoral degree programs in accounting, business administration, business analytics, economics, finance, information systems, international business, management, and marketing to over 5,000 students.

Requirements

  • Applicants should have an earned doctorate in quantitative methods, business analytics, decision science, data science, statistics, or a closely related field from a Carnegie research university/AACSB International-accredited institution. ABD applicants must complete their doctorate before the fall 2026 semester.
  • Applicants must have at least 18 hours of quantitative methods, decision science, statistics, data science, or econometrics-related graduate courses.
  • The candidate should show potential for high-impact scholarship as evidenced by a portfolio of high-quality published and /or ongoing research.
  • Must meet RCVCOBE AACSB faculty qualifications for scholarly academic.
