About The Position

As the Administrative Assistant 3, you will provide administrative support to the Department of Management, Information Systems, & Entrepreneurship. You will make independent decisions regarding management of the department office; organizes, coordinates, and implements all administrative services in the department; works with both internal and external constituencies for the department; and works with the chair in monitoring and analyzing the department budget. Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: handling financial processes for the department; composing complex correspondence for the Chair and the department; assisting with the organization and execution of department events; assisting the chair with student processes; assist with course scheduling, assist department chair with doctoral student work plan, and serves as a point of contact for the department when working with faculty, staff, students and external constituents. Additional Information: This is a full time (100 % FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible. Monthly Salary: $3,925 to $5,271 | Range 44 (Steps A - M) | Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28 . In accordance with RCW 49.58.110 , the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Requirements

  • High School graduation or equivalent AND three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in office/clerical, secretarial, bookkeeping, accounting, or general administrative work; OR equivalent education/experience.
  • Demonstrated skills in organization and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using computer software, such as Microsoft Office.

Nice To Haves

  • Office management experience with Washington State University or similar higher education environment.
  • Experience monitoring and reconciling a budget and/or financial information.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and explain policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, quickly changing, and high stress environment.
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience.
