Emory University is seeking a Physiatrist to serve as an Assistant Professor within the Department of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine. This role primarily involves staffing a 24-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit at Grady Memorial Hospital, focusing on medically complex patients with Spinal Cord Injury (SCI), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), and Stroke who are transferring from ICU/Step-down units. The position carries a 1.0 clinical FTE responsibility, requiring 5 days of active clinical activity each week, dedicated to Grady Memorial Hospital facilities. Call coverage responsibility will include at least 3 assignments at Grady Memorial Hospital annually, with supplemental call pay disbursed for each additional week of call coverage that exceeds the annual 3-week expectation/requirement. This call coverage is a shared responsibility among the department, managed on a rotating basis by the Chief. Duties also include support of the consult service and potentially outpatient clinic support. The position has teaching and research requirements, including occasional lectures, small group and bedside teaching, preceptorship, and mentorship. Responsibilities are subject to change to address departmental/organization needs and opportunities following a discussion with the Physician to elicit their input and feedback. Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location, though remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to the employee.
