The Department of Psychology at Mercer University's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Psychology to begin August 2026. The department shares Mercer University’s vision to create a community of students, faculty, and staff who join together to make a positive difference in the world. The successful candidate will have documented evidence of teaching excellence in an area of Applied Psychology that complements our current faculty (e.g., clinical, counseling, health, school psychology), a research program capable of involving students, and a commitment to serving all students. The successful candidate will teach survey, laboratory, and seminar courses in their area. Candidates who also can and are interested in teaching Research Methods & Statistics and Introduction to Psychology are preferred. Standard teaching load is 21 semester hours per academic year, which translates as three courses per semester with usually only two preps. Responsibilities include teaching, research, and service to the department/college/university.
