The University of Maine at Presque Isle is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Psychology beginning September 1, 2026 for an academic year (9 month) appointment, with potential opportunities for summer teaching. The successful candidate will primarily teach undergraduate courses in Psychology (area of expertise open). Candidates who can teach courses in animal behavior, biological psychology, sensation and perception, or cognitive psychology are preferred. Responsibilities will encompass course instruction and development, advising, engaging in campus and professional service, and fostering opportunities for undergraduate experiential learning. We seek a dedicated professional with a passion for teaching and a commitment to career growth. The work schedule for this on-campus position will be variable based on the teaching schedule and research demands. Work beyond regular hours (which may include nights and weekends) will be necessary to meet the requirements of the position. Regular office hours on campus will be established. The salary for Assistant Professor is $64,711. A University of Maine System transfer rate may be considered in accordance with UMS policies.
