The primary location of this position is the main Cullowhee, NC campus. The School of Accounting, Finance, Information Systems and Business Law is seeking applicants for a tenure-track, nine-month accounting faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor. Anticipated start date of August 2026. The successful candidates will bring expertise in areas of teaching and research that complement and integrate with those of our existing accounting faculty. Our immediate need is for a colleague with academic qualifications to teach tax. A second area of interest and academic qualification is desirable. The normal teaching load is three courses (nine credit hours) per semester. Primary duty assignments will be at the main campus in Cullowhee, North Carolina: However, the duty assignments will likely involve delivery of one or more graduate classes in our online MAcc program. Instruction might be delivered in classroom, online, and/or hybrid formats. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to maintain a current, active research agenda resulting in quality scholarly publications that are relevant to the candidate's area of expertise and teaching, in peer reviewed journals and/or law reviews. The candidate will be expected to be an excellent teacher. The successful candidate will advise students, be involved in appropriate student organizations, and fulfill normal institutional service obligations. Candidates should have strong records or show promise to contribute to the intellectual and practical lives of students and other stakeholders of the School, College, University, and business community.
