Bemidji State University (BSU) invites qualified applicants to join our team as an Assistant or Associate Professor of Political Science Political Science is a dynamic, student-centered program where professors provide personalized mentorship to majors, where students have multiple opportunities to expand their learning through local and national internships, where study abroad is encouraged and where independent research is supported. Political science students gain and apply knowledge about how political institutions operate. At Bemidji State University, we offer courses of study to match student interests with our programs in pre-law, public and non-profit management and international relations. Responsibilities of the Assistant/Associate Professor of Political Science include: The applicant would be expected to teach courses that would include, but are not limited to Research Methods and Thesis, American Government, Constitutional Law, Public Administration and Minnesota Politics. Overseeing the certificate in Public and Non-Profit Management. Overseeing the Pre-Law program, advising pre-law Students and the Pre-Law Club. Teaching other core Political Science courses within the curriculum as needed. Contributing to a program of scholarship within the discipline, advising students, serving the University and community, and other associated faculty duties. Designing and delivering courses for on-campus, online, and hy-flex delivery, as needed. Advising and supporting students’ academic progress. Pursuing scholarly and/or creative activities. Contributing to a collegial and supportive environment that advances the goals of the department, including curriculum development, assessment, and other departmental governance activities. Contributing to interdisciplinary teaching and involvement in activities that support BSU’s Strategic Plan.
