About The Position

University of Washington Medical Center-Montlake has an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Cardiology/Cardiothoracic Surgery unit. Our Cardiology/Cardiothoracic Surgery unit is a 30-bed unit, with computerized arrhythmia monitoring, that cares for patients who have undergone coronary artery bypass graft, valve replacement and repair, heart transplant, lung transplant, and lung resection surgeries. We also care for patients with pacemakers, LVADs, general cardiology concerns, and following invasive procedures for arrhythmias. Performs specific leadership functions related to clinical practice, education and/or management as delegated by and in collaboration with the Nurse Manager Assumes staff assignments and preceptor responsibility Provides leadership for unit and departmental activities that promote delivery of quality nursing care, effective problem solving and communication, and continued professional development for self and others

Requirements

  • Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Charge nurse experience, preceptor experience and/or leadership experience
  • Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Washington
  • Current or recent Cardiology nursing experience

Nice To Haves

  • ACLS preferred
