About The Position

The Assistant National Conference Coordinator (ANCC) will assist in planning and organizing Answers in Genesis (AiG) national conferences at the Ark Encounter and Creation Museum. This position is responsible for facilitating and reporting details for each conference and is a comprehensive communication liaison between AiG leadership, speakers, staffing and event operations. The ANCC must be detail oriented and possess superior planning skills. This position will allow one to impact others through a service mindset centered on making an eternal difference. They must possess the ability to interact with staff (at all levels) in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, remaining pleasant, flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient, with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. Expert level written and verbal communication skills, strong decision-making ability and attention to detail are equally important, and they must work independently with little or no supervision. This position should display our Core Values of SERVE (Serve, Equip, Relate, Value, Engage) when interfacing with both internal and external customers to ensure that the message and mission of Answers in Genesis is portrayed in an effective and God-honoring fashion. Requirements

  • Must agree with and able to sign our Statement of Faith.
  • Maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Regularly attend a local, Bible-believing church.
  • Able to work well under pressure, determine priorities and produce results.
  • Have a solid understanding of event planning and execution.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills: this person must be comfortable communicating passionately and professionally with people from all walks of life.
  • Exceptional organization/planning/interpersonal skills and attention to details: must be able to keep track of multiple projects in different stages of completion.
  • Assertiveness: must have the ability to be firm yet encouraging in negotiating with vendors, ministry partners and other departments concerning logistical, promotional, financial and other ministry needs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software and ability to learn new software as required.
  • A servant leadership attitude.
  • Able to work varied shifts as required, including weekends and public holidays. This is an exempt position and requires long hours during the execution of conferences.
  • Good physical condition with the ability to bend, stoop, reach, lift up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Able to maintain professionalism in execution of events along with interactions with staff and outside organizations.
  • Able to work with various departments and teams to successfully execute events.
  • Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A strong desire, with personal commitment, to grow the outreach of Answers in Genesis.
  • Work as a team member with the ministry’s objective.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in conference/events planning a plus.
  • Experience working within a Christian, non-profit ministry a plus.
  • Proficient in data extraction and manipulation.
  • Professional event experience, preferably in a cultural or academic institution or in an attractions environment a plus.
  • Knowledge of events and/or theatre industry a plus.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and other computer programs proficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Consistently meet all established timelines related to national conferences.
  • Communicate and negotiate with venues and/or vendors for ministry conference needs.
  • Execute event operations in an efficient manner including follow-up reporting.
  • Communicate with all involved parties in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Communicate with speakers and leaders regarding schedules, topics and travel needs.
  • Communicate with staff and volunteers regarding logistical and operational needs including staffing, resources, promotional and technical needs.
  • Communicate effectively with registered and potential attendees regarding options, conference details and timelines.
  • Facilitate all duties with a focus on efficiency and stewardship.
  • Faithfully steward relationships.
  • Serve the needs of attendees.
  • Provide resources and remove obstacles for staff and volunteers.
  • Maintain a Godly testimony with vendors and venues.
  • Ensure safety and security of ministry assets while facilitating events (equipment, finances, and vehicles).
  • Monitor quality assurance and maintain an appropriate cost/revenue ratio for events.
  • And all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
