Role and Responsibilities The primary objective of the Assistant Manager, Product Safety Team is to manage Samsung Electronics America (SEA) Customer Care Product Liability management activities, including risk management, claims management, attending On-site Scene & Lab examinations to identify potential causes of product issue and will be responsible for communicating and executing high-priority tasks to support top management. The goal of the Product Safety Claims Professional is to support Product Liability claims by defending the Samsung product and brand, activities to prevent product liability, attending on-site inspection & lab exams, identifying critical issues, developing a response strategy, coordinating with the insurance company and 3rd party law firm, handling safety-related concerns. Manage high-level PL claims, including but not limited to claim follow-up (system/email update), attending Scene/Lab examinations with the expectation that they will prepare and present their findings to upper management. Be the key person to liaise with the Suwon office to present any communications from within the PLD Team. Claim management, including Insurance/Tender/Subrogation claims, managing LTPs and status, making decisions & escalating issues Works on issues that impact the success of business or addresses future concepts, products, or technologies Regularly interacts with external/internal stakeholders /or major customers. Interactions may frequently involve special skills such as negotiating with customers or management or attempting to influence juniors regarding significant matters to the organization Product Liability Risk management, sensing, and reporting potential risks to the leadership Early risk sensing for product liability issues, work cross-functionally with headquarter teams in Korea and the laboratory, follow up a close-loop process from detecting issues to corrective actions Claim management, including Insurance/Tender/Subrogation claims, managing LTPs and status, making decisions & escalating issues.

Requirements

  • Develops professional expertise by complying with company policies and procedures
  • Works on problems of moderate scope where analyzing situations or data requires a review on various factors
  • Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
  • Normally receives general instructions on routine work with detailed instructions on new projects or assignments
  • Generally requires a bachelor's degree with a minimum 2 years related experience, or advanced degree without experience
