Manage personnel in the print shop; meet organizational record-keeping and departmental needs; promote and market the department's services and products; ensure high quality on all Print Services jobs. Print Services is a student-led department, and this position plays a key role in managing the team and the work.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in business or have completed the Business Management prerequisites courses (https://catalog.byuh.edu/business-management-bs)
  • One year of relevant management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, plan, and schedule all activities involved in the operations of the printing department by supervising the administrative and skilled operators in the accomplishment of varied printing tasks.
  • Schedule work projects, priorities, and assignments; coordinate and perform work between the pre-press/design department and the print shop.
  • Establishes and coordinates methods and procedures for economical and efficient production.
  • Monitors and enforces processes and procedures to ensure efficient operation of their functional teams.
  • Oversees maintenance of accurate documentation and training efforts.
  • Oversees onboarding and training of new employees.
  • Oversees technical certifications of team members.
  • Provide technical advice and direction to equipment operators and others and advise requesting departments as to appropriate colors, format, binding, etc., to produce job orders.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and materials and control inventory levels by requisitioning materials, supplies, and equipment based on obtaining the best price while maintaining a perpetual inventory.
  • Manages student employee work schedules to meet ongoing operational needs and larger orders.
  • Approves the work hours of the students they supervise.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
