Summary The Assistant Manager – Port Processing Audit is responsible for identifying, analyzing, and mitigating financial and operational loss exposure across port processing activities by detecting processing errors, discrepancies, and inefficiencies, and driving corrective and preventive actions through structured audits, monitoring, and continuous improvement in close collaboration with Port Operations, Port Profitability & Optimization, Accounting, Vendors, and Third-Party Carriers to ensure process accuracy, control effectiveness, and sustained improvements before and after process changes.

Requirements

  • Experience in logistics, port operations, audit, or process improvement environments Required
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills for clear and professional reporting Required
  • Proficient in Excel for data analysis, tracking, and reporting Required
  • Proficient ability to work cross-functionally with operations, finance, vendors, and third-party partners Required
  • Advanced attention to detail with a strong control-oriented mindset Required
  • Advanced understanding of port processing workflows and transactional operations Required
  • Advanced ability to identify processing errors, inefficiencies, and control gaps Required
  • Advanced analytical capability to assess the financial and operational impact of process issues Required
  • Advanced ability to drive ownership and accountability Required
  • Bachelors Degree Required
  • 6 - 9 years of direct experience in Accounting, Billings, Financial Analysis, Finished Vehicle Operations Required

Responsibilities

  • Process Audit & Loss Exposure Identification
  • Review and audit port processing workflows to identify errors, discrepancies, and inefficiencies
  • Detect and quantify financial and operational loss exposure, including revenue and cost leakage, resulting from process gaps or execution issues
  • Analyze operational and transactional data to identify recurring issues and root causes
  • Validate process execution against approved SOPs, control standards, and operational requirements
  • Monitoring & Control Effectiveness
  • Establish and maintain ongoing monitoring mechanisms to track process accuracy and performance
  • Verify effectiveness of corrective actions before and after implementation
  • Maintain audit logs, issue trackers, and corrective action status reports
  • Support internal control objectives by ensuring consistency, accuracy, and compliance in port processing activities
  • Process Improvement & Coordination
  • Partner with Port Operations, Profitability, and Accounting teams to implement corrective and preventive actions
  • Provide audit findings and data-driven insights to support process redesign and optimization initiatives
  • Assist in updating SOPs, control documentation, and reference materials based on audit outcomes
  • Coordinate with ports, vendors, and third-party carriers to resolve processing, data, and execution issues
  • Reporting & Special Projects
  • Prepare audit summaries, trend analyses, and issue reports for management review
  • Support special projects related to process optimization, system enhancements, and control improvements
  • Assist with audit readiness, documentation, and management responses as required
  • Other duties as assigned
