About The Position

Step into a leadership role that shapes the quality and safety of every product leaving our Brownsville Facility at Grande. As the Assistant Manager, Plant Quality & Lab Services , you’ll oversee the lab team, elevate testing accuracy and efficiency, and champion the systems that keep our products, and our people, safe. This is a hands‑on, high‑impact position where your expertise in microbiology, chemistry, and quality systems will drive continuous improvement across the facility. Requirements

• 4 Year Bachelors Degree with an emphasis in Chemistry, Microbiology or other related discipline required. An equivalent level of education and experience may be considered.
• Minimum of four (4) years lab experience required.
• Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) Certification for Human Food required.
• Demonstrated experience in a leadership or supervisory role, with the ability to coach, develop, and guide laboratory or technical teams effectively.
• Working knowledge of chemistry, microbiology and physical testing of dairy and whey products.
• Knowledge of six sigma tools and processes.
• Knowledge of Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMs).
• Strong microbiological, analytical and statistical skills.
• Project management courses and/or training.
• Advanced problem solving skills.
• Strong computer skills in MS Office Suite.
• Must have a working knowledge of and good manufacturing practices; must possess a working knowledge of all laboratory testing involving milk, cheese and whey.

Nice To Haves

• Food and dairy industry experience preferred.
• Certifications / Licenses preferred: Pasteurizer Operator Auditor Training HACCP Certification Root Cause Analysis Training ISO17025 Experience
