About The Position

Overview Location: Ball Memorial Hospital Position: Assistant Manager of Clinical Operations Shift: 1.0 Full-time FTE Monday - Friday days with evening, weekend, and holiday flexibility. We are seeking a dedicated nursing leader to support clinical operations, foster team empowerment, and drive excellence in patient outcomes. ________________________________________ Position Overview: The Assistant Manager of OB Clinical Operations supports the delivery of exceptional, family-centered care across our Obstetrics Emergency Department, Labor & Delivery, Mother-Baby, Operating Room Suites, and Lactation. As a key member of the Women and Children's leadership team, this role champions IU Health's values-leading with compassion, striving for excellence, working with purpose, and fostering strong teams. This leader helps drive daily operations, supports quality and safety initiatives, and promotes a positive experience for patients, families, and team members in a 24/7 care environment

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Additional advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department policies.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the unit Manager to develop and implement action plans aimed at quality, safety, and patient experience improvements.
  • Lead the execution of action plans and evaluate their outcomes and effectiveness.
  • Foster an environment of team empowerment, excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Support the advancement of nursing practice through advocacy for evidence-based and professional standards.
  • Participate as a key member of the unit leadership team, ensuring smooth operational management around the clock.
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, and professional growth within the team.
