The principle responsibilities are to define how viruses infect cells and how the host cell restricts viral infection. Specifically, the candidate will generate new hypotheses, design experiments, carry out the experiments, interpret the data, and present the data and proper documentation to Dr. Robert Orchard his supervisor. Additionally, they will be responsible for managing a multi-line mouse colony. This candidate will contribute to the lab organizational matters such as ordering supplies, maintaining stocks, and overseeing equipment. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree and 6 years as a Postdoctoral Researcher. The individual will use cell culture and mouse models to study biological mechanisms. Experience working with mice is strongly preferred. Experience with bioinformatics, yeast, and/or biochemistry is also of interest but not required. Experience in related areas leading to publication in peer-reviewed journals is recommended.
