About The Position

The Commercial Assistant General Manager will play a pivotal role in supporting the efficient and effective management of our commercial real estate portfolio. Working closely with the property management team, this position will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to tenant relations, lease administration, financial management, and overall property operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Office building management experience required
  • Minimum 2 years of Commercial property management experience required
  • Sales and/or leasing experience
  • Yardi experience preferred
  • General office and accounting skills.
  • Computer proficient.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk and sit. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Responsibilities

  • Regular on-site visits to commercial properties within the portfolio will be required. This includes conducting property inspections, meetings with tenants, and coordinating maintenance activities. The on-site aspect of the role allows for a hands-on approach to property management and a direct understanding of property conditions.
  • Interact with tenants in person and through various communication channels. This may involve addressing concerns, coordinating events, and fostering positive relationships to enhance tenant satisfaction.
  • Attend tenant meetings and events to maintain open lines of communication and address any issues promptly.
  • Property management often involves a degree of flexibility in work hours. Responding to urgent matters or attending to property needs may require occasional work outside regular business hours.
  • Work closely with a diverse team of professionals, including property managers, leasing agents, maintenance personnel, and finance professionals.
  • Collaborate with different departments within the organization to ensure streamlined communication and coordinated efforts in managing commercial properties.
  • Assist Property Manager in the preparation of monthly reports according to needs.
  • Assist the Property Manager in supervising on-site staff.
  • Other duties, responsibilities, and special projects as assigned
