Collins Aerospace is looking for a strategic, collaborative and experienced U.S. government contracts counsel to support enterprise-wide initiatives and negotiations with primes and the U.S. government (USG). This lawyer directly supports both the Collins Customer Excellence & Strategy function as well as the Enterprise Contracts function, supporting both as USG legal subject matter expert, counselor and teammate. This lawyer collaborates with Collins-wide and RTX-wide USG contracts, lawyers and compliance professionals, as well as gives day-to-day support and guidance to senior Collins executives. What You Will Do: Represents Collins Aerospace on internal and external USG legal issues Acts as a strategic business partner to review, draft, negotiate, and advise on a wide variety of government agreements to meet business and legal requirements, including OTAs, FAR 15 and FAR 12 agreements Assists with managing and resolving contract disputes, bid protests, equitable adjustments, and breach of contract claims Interprets complex laws, rulings, and regulations and provides expertise on legal issues to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations Aids in the development and implementation of processes, procedures, and metrics (including efficient contracting processes) to increase the overall effectiveness of the legal services provided to the company Has experience with government contract formation (including detailed reviews of solicitation and evaluation documents for source selections) Understands and can collaborate on data rights and other intellectual property issues Has deep knowledge of commercial item terms and conditions necessary for government acceptance and commerciality determinations Provides guidance on cost accounting issues Other duties as assigned Must be willing and able to travel 20% of the time
