As the Assistant Front Office Manager, you will play a key leadership role in delivering exceptional guest experiences while supporting the daily operations of the Front Office. Requirements

  • Minimum 3–5 years of progressive Front Office or Guest Services experience in a full-service hotel
  • Supervisory or leadership experience required
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a high-volume environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and hotel management systems
  • Flexible schedule required, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to stand for extended periods (8+ hours per shift) while overseeing front desk operations
  • Frequent walking throughout the property to support staff and respond to guest needs
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds (luggage, packages, supplies)
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach when assisting guests or accessing storage areas
  • Ability to move quickly and respond appropriately during guest service or operational emergencies
  • Ability to work long and varied shifts, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Sustained mental focus and multitasking ability during high guest volume periods
  • Ability to operate computers, phones, and office equipment for extended periods, transitioning between sitting and standing

Responsibilities

  • Support the daily operations of the Front Desk, ensuring a seamless guest experience from arrival to departure
  • Lead by example in delivering warm, anticipatory, and personalized service
  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests, concerns, and service recovery situations
  • Anticipate guest needs and proactively resolve issues in alignment with hotel policies
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance management of Front Office team members
  • Prepare and manage team schedules based on occupancy forecasts and business levels
  • Monitor room inventory, daily sales, rate variances, and occupancy reports to help maximize revenue
  • Ensure proper use of property management systems, guest service platforms, and communication tools
  • Monitor cash handling procedures and ensure compliance with credit card and accounting policies
  • Oversee Lost & Found procedures, guest packages, and mail handling
  • Provide elevated service to VIP guests and manage special requests with precision
  • Assist with guest check-ins and check-outs, including billing accuracy and payment processing
  • Partner with Housekeeping, Engineering, Accounting, and other departments to ensure smooth operations
  • Conduct regular team meetings and maintain open communication with leadership
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards, emergency procedures, and Hotel Effie service expectations
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of room types, amenities, packages, promotions, and local attractions
