About The Position

The Financial Aid Assistant supports the Financial Aid leadership team in the administration and coordination of student financial aid programs for allied health and clinical education programs. This role serves as a key point of contact for students and staff, ensuring accurate processing of financial aid, compliance with regulations, and smooth communication across departments.

Requirements

  • Office experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong data entry and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of financial aid processing systems and procedures
  • Familiarity with: FAFSA, State grant programs, Student loan processing and reconciliation
  • Understanding of education department processes preferred
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, onsite environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Availability for occasional late evenings as needed
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to organizational standards of conduct

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director of Financial Aid with the development, implementation, and evaluation of student financial aid programs
  • Serve as a resource for students by providing financial aid information and guidance
  • Prepare and distribute financial aid information and application packets
  • Support the administration and maintenance of scholarship awards and financial aid records
  • Process student loans and reconcile student financial aid packages
  • Stay current on financial aid regulations, updates, and policy changes
  • Coordinate with admissions, registration, fiscal, and academic departments to support financial aid operations
  • Collaborate with professional staff and administration to ensure accurate and timely information flow
  • Communicate effectively with students, families, visitors, and internal personnel
  • Assist with student services activities such as orientation, graduation, and related events
  • Attend administrative and staff meetings as required
  • Perform data entry and maintain accurate financial aid documentation
  • Complete additional duties and projects as assigned
