About The Position

Potawatomi Federal Solutions is seeking a qualified Assistant Facility Security Officer (FSO)/HR Generalist who will perform daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including hiring and onboarding staff, providing guidance regarding company policies and practices to both managers and employees. Additionally, the Assistant FSO/HR Generalist will consult with and engage in problem solving with customer groups and work to develop HR solutions that accomplish business objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or other related field
  • Previous experience using Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS); such as Oracle Taleo, or other ATS
  • Extensive experience with the following security systems: NISS, DISS and NBIS (required)
  • At least four (4) years of Human Resources in government contracting experience (required)
  • At least three (3) years of Industrial Security experience
  • Must possess Active Secret security clearance
  • Basic knowledge of labor laws
  • Ability to treat all employees fairly and to retain sensitive and confidential information
  • Position is remote. It is required that candidate has a remote office environment that is conducive for to perform duties without disruption.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs; including, but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Assists in clearing employees, submitting VAR’s through DISS, distribute security briefings, ensure NISPOM Compliance. Ensures the execution of any required security reports with contractor employees, DCSA, FBI, Insider Threat Committee, or other designated representatives. Must have general knowledge, through training or equivalent job experience, in the following: Industrial Security; Information Security; Facility Clearances in the NISP; NISP Reporting Requirements; Personnel Clearances in the NISP; Visits and Meetings in the NISP; Protecting Assets in the NISP; and NISP Self-Inspections.
