Pinehurst Country Club is currently recruiting a Full-Time, Year-Round, Assistant Equipment Manager! Position Summary The Assistant Equipment Manager (AEM) supports the Equipment Manager (EM) in the comprehensive preventive maintenance and repair program of all grounds department equipment. AEM will contribute to morning golf course maintenance throughout the growing season and as needed otherwise.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively on status of work and equipment
  • Ability to keep accurate records.
  • Ability to follow directions to assist in maintenance and repair of equipment
  • Knowledge of and/or ability to play the game of golf and understand how job performance affects the playing conditions of the golf course.
  • Skill in the use of a variety of equipment repair tools
  • Working knowledge of light and heavy maintenance equipment and automotive apparatuses.
  • Working knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of the profession.
  • Working knowledge of the theory, care, and operation of internal combustion engines and mowing equipment.
  • Ability to read plans and equipment manuals and understand terms connected to them required.
  • Must be proficient in standard computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other related programs.
  • Proficient in operating all golf course equipment – At least 2 seasons of Golf course experience or equipment management
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Auditory: Ability to communicate clearly in routine conversations in person, via telephone or 2-way radio. Must be able to hear normal sounds with background noise and distinguish voice patterns.
  • Environmental Conditions: This position’s duties may be performed inside maintenance facility with cooler temperatures for extended periods of time and volunteer assignments and some building maintenance assignments are conducted in outside environments, in all weather conditions.
  • Other: Ability to produce information in written form. Ability to operate heavy equipment. Ability to pay attention to detail and concentrate for 60 minutes or more with constant interruptions.
  • Strength: Ability to move to and from various points within Pinehurst Country Club, as well as within the outdoor environment, surrounding communities and the Front Range. Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds up to 50 feet.
  • Visual: Ability to perform manipulative skills that require hand-eye coordination such as a calculator or computer and be able to see objects closely as in typing a document or reading a report.

Responsibilities

  • Communicates any needs or problems relating to the maintenance or repair of equipment to the Equipment Manager
  • Assist in regular maintenance of all equipment
  • Instruct and/or assist in training of golf course maintenance workers regarding use and safe operation of equipment
  • Assists with record keeping and service logs of equipment fleet
  • Perform tasks to contribute to routine and preventive maintenance program
  • Assist in shop area maintenance and cleanliness
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Superintendent or Director of Grounds
  • Sharpen, setup, repair and maintenance of reels and other cutting equipment.
