About The Position

Reporting to the Director of the Aulbani J. Beauregard Center for Equity, Justice, and Freedom, the Assistant Director of Programming and Engagement provides engagement opportunities, support, advocacy, and outreach to students from historically excluded and underserved backgrounds and ally students at the University. The Assistant Director is responsible for planning, designing, implementing, and assessing signature programming. The Assistant Director supervises student staff and interns and responds to student concerns and feedback to advocate for their success. The Assistant Director serves as a key administrator in the operations and financial management of programs within the Beauregard Center. The Assistant Director serves as an advisor and resource for students. The Assistant Director is a fully on-site position that collaborates with students, colleagues, and other stakeholders to develop resources and implement initiatives in support of community, equity, and inclusion at the university. Priority application review deadline: 8/31/23. Standard working hours will be 8am-5pm with occasional weekend/evening work required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and two years of related, full-time experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with students of color, LGBTQIA+ students, first-generation students, students from low-income background, and students of diverse cultural, religious and spiritual backgrounds, and with all university students via inclusive practices and collaboration.
  • Demonstrated experience with developing, implementing, and assessing engagement programs from an intersectional approach.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess and evaluate the effectiveness of initiatives and events.
  • Ability and willingness to serve in-person in support of the students and the physical space.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Higher Education, College Personnel Development, Human Relations, or related fields, with experience in Student Affairs preferred.
  • Experience working with students in a college setting.
  • Supervisory experience, including experience supervising student staff
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as well as independently.
  • Experience with developing and managing stakeholder relationships.
  • Experience with marketing and outreach initiatives.
  • Experience using social media platforms.
