About The Position

Community Options, Inc. is a national non-profit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities in 12 states. We are currently seeking an Assistant Director of People Operations in Las Cruces, NM.. The Assistant Director of People Operations provides strategic and operational leadership for the organization’s Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) function. This role ensures consistent HR practices across the organization, supports executive decision-making through workforce analysis and planning, and leads the HR Business Partner team. Reporting to the CHRO, the Director collaborates with key stakeholders to deliver a cohesive and effective HR service model.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive HR experience, with prior experience managing a team.
  • In-depth knowledge of labor law, employee relations, and HR operations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must maintain confidentiality and sensitivity regarding all employment matters
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize
  • Ability to maintain diplomacy, composure, and develop effective relationships with others.
  • Ability to travel up to 15%.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • PHR/SPHR certification or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and provide direction, guidance and support to the HRBPs and People Operations team. Serve as HRBP for assigned territory.
  • Coach operations leaders on employment matters for consistency and compliance.
  • Manage projects focused on retention, change management, performance, communication, and process improvement. Parter with HR functional team members across Recruitment, Benefits, Compliance and People Analytics teams to achieve objectives.
  • Assess organizational needs and formulate strategic solutions addressing talent acquisition, retention, and workforce planning initiatives.
  • Utilize various platforms to analyze data, identify trends and implement action plans.
  • Supervise a range of HR activities, such as managing leaves of absence and handling unemployment disputes.
  • Ensure adherence to labor laws, human resources policies, and licensing standards across the organization. Perform compliance audits and provide employment-related training when appropriate.
  • Support investigations and corrective actions.
  • Partner with the People Analytics team to align reporting tools with operational requirements.
  • Advise the CHRO and senior leaders on workforce risk, trends and initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.
