About The Position

We are seeking a (Senior) Director of People Operations to build and scale the infrastructure, systems, and processes that support our employees and enable our next stage of growth. This is a senior leadership role responsible for designing a world-class People Operations function in a high-growth environment where clarity, efficiency, and scalability are essential. The ideal candidate has deep People Operations expertise and significant experience implementing Workday or similar enterprise HRIS systems from the ground up. They understand what scale requires and can anticipate future needs while building solutions that work for today. This includes the ability to lead discovery, select the right technologies, drive implementation, and establish sustainable long-term systems architecture. This leader will also guide the People team’s AI strategy. They will leverage AI tools to improve accuracy, speed, and the employee experience, and will be responsible for ensuring adoption and capability-building across the People function. Additionally, this role oversees total rewards, including compensation and benefits, and serves as a critical partner to Finance and leadership during cycles of growth and organizational expansion. You will bring a builder mindset, operational excellence, and a positive, solutions-oriented approach to a dynamic and mission-driven environment.

Requirements

  • 10 or more years of progressive People Operations experience, including senior leadership roles in high-growth or scaling companies.
  • Deep experience implementing Workday or a similar enterprise HRIS system from inception to scale.
  • Strong fluency in AI tools and applications relevant to People Operations, with the ability to lead adoption and capability building.
  • Hands-on experience owning or partnering on compensation, benefits, and total rewards programs.
  • Proven ability to build scalable systems, policies, and processes that support growth and operational excellence.
  • Strong analytical, systems thinking, and problem-solving skills with an ability to turn complexity into clarity.
  • Exceptional communication and cross-functional partnership abilities.
  • A proactive, positive, and adaptable mindset, with ease in navigating rapid change and ambiguity.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, scale, and optimize People programs across onboarding, offboarding, performance, compliance, and the broader employee lifecycle.
  • Build a long-term People Operations roadmap aligned to organizational growth, readiness, and employee experience goals.
  • Partner with leaders across the company to anticipate needs and implement solutions that create clarity and consistency during rapid growth.
  • Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of Workday for Function Health, including project planning, configuration, change management, and future phase expansions.
  • Develop an integrated systems strategy for the People function that ensures data accuracy, scalability, and seamless workflow across tools.
  • Build processes and tools that support both immediate needs and long-term growth, ensuring systems can evolve with the business.
  • Drive automation opportunities that reduce manual work and improve operational efficiency.
  • Own and execute the AI roadmap for the People team with a focus on improving accuracy, speed, and employee experience.
  • Identify AI-enabled tools and workflow enhancements to streamline operations.
  • Train and support the People team to build confidence and capability in AI-driven processes.
  • Lead compensation and benefits programs with a structured, data-driven, and transparent approach.
  • Partner with Finance and Leadership on compensation cycles, benchmarking, leveling frameworks, and rewards strategies.
  • Oversee vendor management, compliance, and program evaluation to ensure competitiveness and alignment with company goals.
  • Build and lead a high-performing People Operations team with a culture grounded in service, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Model Function Health’s values and foster an environment where employees feel supported, informed, and connected.
  • Champion process discipline while maintaining flexibility and empathy in a fast-changing environment.
