The Assistant Director (AD) of Operations serves an integral role on a team that ensures the facilities are welcoming and engaging for our diverse campus community and guests and is reflective of our Catholic mission. The AD is responsible for overseeing the daily operation of the University Center and Student Life Pavilion. The Assistant Director takes a lead role in the management of the student employee training, operating and special events budget. The Assistant Director provides leadership for outreach to potential customers and guests in an effort to generate revenue for the facility. The AD works in conjunction with staff to imagine and lead the highest quality of customer service and experience for guests including ascertaining and providing for event needs, (lighting, sound, furnishings, staffing and security). The Assistant Director hires, supervises, trains and schedules a diverse team of student employees and assists in the supervision of five custodial staff members. The AD collaborates with scheduling personnel to ensure facility set-up is in compliance with on and off-campus guests’ needs. In addition, the AD performs daily systematic review of the facility, requesting maintenance as needed. The AD ensures the nightly lock-up of the facility. Serves as a positive role model for students. Ensures compliance with university and state rules and regulations regarding safety of building personnel and guests. Periodically, this position may be asked to lead or contribute to either ad hoc or ongoing division/campus projects outside the scope of their day-to-day activities. In addition. This position contributes to or leads additional division/campus projects outside of typical duties to help further accomplish student or organizational goals. Additional assignments may be seasonal, ad hoc or ongoing, depending on the project.
