About The Position

The Iowa State University Athletics Department is seeking an entry-level Assistant Director of Football Operations. This position will play an important role in supporting the daily functions of the Division I football program, ensuring that coaches, staff, and student-athletes have the resources and operational support needed to compete at a championship level. About the Athletics Department As an NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision athletics program and a founding member of the Big 12 Conference, Iowa State University sponsors 18 intercollegiate athletics teams and supports 450 student-athletes in their pursuit of academic and athletic excellence. ISU Athletics employs over 250 talented and dedicated full-time staff members, more than 500 temporary and student employees, and multiple auxiliary partners who collaboratively work within a culture to support and enhance the experiences of Cyclone student-athletes and their loyal fan base. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Directly related experience in athletics administration or administrative support, or sports operations.
  • Ideal candidates will have a career interest in football operations or administration rather than coaching.
  • Possess strong organizational, time management, decision making, problem solving and communication skills.
  • Candidates are expected to be committed to multiculturalism and working with a diverse student body and staff.
  • This position works non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and travel with the team.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an on-going basis without sponsorship.
  • Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Chief of Staff with day-to-day program operations and internal communication across the football department.
  • Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing all aspects of team travel, including transportation, lodging, meals, itineraries, and on-site logistics.
  • Maintain and update team schedules, calendars, and Teamworks data for student-athletes, coaches, and staff.
  • Serve as a liaison between the football program and departmental partners, including the academic services office and compliance staff.
  • Coordinate and help execute program events.
  • Assist with official and unofficial recruiting visits, ensuring a smooth and professional experience for prospective student-athletes and their families.
  • Provide onboarding and transition support for incoming student-athletes.
  • Contribute to a and enhance a competitive student-athlete experience.
  • Foster an environment that supports the well-being, academic success, and personal development of student-athletes.
  • Responsible for adhering to the rules and regulations of the department, University, Big 12 Conference and NCAA.
